Hello again!
It's been a long time since I posted but the update is finally here. I've been working on some Christmas cards, some which won't go anywhere and others who will be sent to family and friends.
This first one I made today on my room floor... lol. Anyway, it's for my uncle Mikael and his family, so I thought it would suit with a kid on the picture.

This next one I made for someone who let me into her house when I couldn't stay home on my own as a child. A very lovely lady she is and I hope she is doing well. Hopefully I'll be able to visit her soon.

The next two I made in November, but I wanted to be finished with the cards before I posted them here.

I hope you like. Please give comments ^^
Take care and Merry Christmas!

Lol! Guess what?!
It's already done! Yay me :P:P
Here it is:

The picture on this thing isn't mine. Sam was really nice and let me use it for this. Thank you so much!!!
I hope you like it and that it would be good as a gift for my sister's boyfriend's parents when I go there this December.

Have a good one!

Market

October and time for the annual autumn market. Quite a lovely event, lots of people, so many different things at the different tables and the nice smell of burned almonds and doughnuts filling the air. I try to go every year, which is why - even though I'm not supposed to go out yet until my throats healed after the operation (took my tonsils out finally)- I went.

As I said... LOTS of people...

And of course I couldn't help taking this picture, not sure of how good everything shows but the doughnuts were really good! :P

And this guy... I think he was a little stressed, considering he was yelling "NEXT!!" before he was finished with the customer he already had in front of him. Sort of reminded me a bit of the MTV show Next, where the main person says next before the applicant even opened his/her mouth... hehe

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pictures. I haven't been well enough to make anything in the crafts department, but I have decided to have a little project for when I go to England in December. So I'll be sure to post that here when it's done.

Have a good day and hope you are well.

I feel so bad for not updating this in a long while. Though I have been quite busy being sick...
Anyway, thought I'd take a little time before I go to my lecture today and leave a small note. I was woken up today by my family singing... at 7 am... it wasn't too bad though, to be honest, as it is a tradition we have when someone has a birthday.
Oh well, I'll keep this really short and wish you a good day.

Hope you are well,

Gränna is known for their peppermint rocks. They make them in so many different shapes and flavours. Here's some pretty roses that I found. ^^

My family and I also went to Visingsö, which is an island just west of Gränna. We found a few sites we all liked and I thought I'd share them with you.

This is an old castle that unfortunately burnt down and most of the rocks used fell into the water on the other side.

In this image you can see some of the rocks that were used when building the castle.

Of course we managed to find some pretty flowers by the side of the road. Yay ^^

I have some animal pictures as well that I'll upload later if you want. Why don't you tell me? Have a good one!

Hey everyone. I'm sorry I haven't updated this in almost two months. A lot of things have been going on and now I've caught mononucleosis... or glandular fever. Been going in and out of the hospital this last week and my arms look like pincushions.

I'm afraid that it's going to be a while before I update again, I need to shake this thing first. Hope you are feeling better than me.

Was walking home a week or so ago late at night and saw this. Thought I'd share it with you. It was really hard keeping the camera absolutely still, but it turned out somewhat good ^^.

I'm feeling like crap today. Not sure why, everything just isn't as good as it can be...

I made this card for my sister's boyfriend whose birthday is in August... I think... Not sure  *blush* I really liked making the card though as he is someone who likes pink and purple! ^^

The next card I made as a way to celebrate summer, while it was hot and lovely outside.

And the last card I made is for a friend of mine who's graduating in June. The little stickers with writing on it says "grattis" which means congratulations in Swedish.
I also put a little kitty sticker in there that I thought was cute.

Sorry it's so short, as I said earlier, I'm not feeling very well. But I hope you are!
Take care and we'll see each other soon again.

Injuries

The paper birds for my mother's Ph.D. reception didn't happen... I got injured yesterday and I haven't been able to walk since, I successfully enough injured both feet... and I pulled a muscle in my left shoulder, so I'm in a lot of physical pain right now.

Well, my mother's Ph.D. reception went fine when I was there at least, I had to leave early because my feet were aching so much. But she seemed to have fun, yay!

I have nothing new I'm afraid for now... I'll see what I can do when the pain lessens.

Hope you all are ok. *hugs*

Tsuru

May 5th already? Wow, time really does fly... I've been working really hard on something that I'm quite proud of now. I'm afraid the image is a little blurry, but I hope you can see what it is.

Well, incase you can't, there are 150 paper birds on a one meter string. I no longer have it, I gave it to a friend of mine who went back to Finland today. She's a really good friend and I'm going to miss her a lot. Maria, come back to Sweden soon!

I'm working on another project already, sort of. My mum asked me to fold some birds for her Ph.D party, so that all guests can have one each. So that's what I'm working on right now. Luckily I won't have to fold so many *phew* considering it's 3 days till her party... I'm up in five so far... so I better get to work!

Take care of you and I'll update soon again.

Valborg/Walpurgis' night

Been back from the celebrations for a while now, still don't feel much better than when I was there. I haven't drunk one drop of alcohol and I'm proud of that. It's just that... things happened that I wished didn't, or at least that I didn't have to see them happen. It was hurtful and I'm confused about what to do.

We started out with a champagne breakfast, where you drink champagne (or something else) and eat food/snacks etc. After four hours of just sitting we went to the biggest (I think) library we have in town to run down the hill like the little silly students we all are, no matter what age. Even though I didn't run, as I'm still recovering from an infection, it looked pretty funny with people trying to run when most others just didn't.

After this we ended up at one of the student nations (something all students of the university needs to be a part of) and pretty much everyone drank even more. They each got at least one bottle of champagne each and were spraying it, drinking it, spilling it, getting it up people's noses... you name it. It probably happened.

With all the people around drinking like mad, I kinda panicked and asked the head if I could use the piano, since playing calms me down. But unfortunately they had already rigged the room for the party later that night so I could get no where near the piano. If I had been able to play it would've been golden, as I not much later broke down and cried. This is why I really try to hold on to my friendships and keep them dear to me as one of my friends reminded me of how proud I should be of myself to have got this far. To have friends that can pick you up when you're feeling down, is amazing. I really treasure this friendship I have with this girl, she really is someone who is there for you when you really need it. Friendships like that are hard to find, and if you have one, make sure to keep it. It will make you go a long way.

"Angels, what are they? It could be a transparent figure with wings, or just someone transparent. Maybe there's an angel standing right in front of you, you just don't know it. Whatever they are I believe there is always someone watching over me. Werther it's an angel or just a human beeing, could be an animal too. Who knows? Maybe it's you."

That was an excerpt from a poem I wrote when I was fourteen/fifteen years old, spelling errors aside I think it has a point, even now, six years later.

I don't know where I'm going with this to be honest, just writing as I go along. As usual. No real structure, just a text. Actually, it's been a long time since I just wrote like this. Years. I guess the events of the day got the cup to overflow...

Well, I won't take up any more of your time. You take care and I hope to see you soon again.

"Sometimes it can seem so hard,
You fall down so many times,
Some days you don't want to get up,
You hurt inside and think that no one cares,
But friends are always there."

Tomorrow is a big day in Uppsala. We call it Valborg, or Walpurgis night I believe it is called in English. It's originally a day where we celebrate the arrival of spring, but now-a-days it's mostly an excuse for people to get smashed. Lucky for me, I don't drink so I won't have to think about the possibility to end up in the drunken cell at the police station. Hehe.

Well, this thing is just some pretty rub-on and a photo. Really easy, but I liked the picture of the bird that I took so this was the outcome.

I wanted to do something that had something with people in it, and then this mailman was passing by, so I took the opportunity to take his picture. He was just doing what he does everyday, so I thought the phrase Everyday Life, suited it perfectly. Hope you like it.

Well, since the upload pictures takes a long time, I'll be cutting it short here. Hope you are all right, and be back! ^^

onsdag 16 april 2008

I don't know about you, but I've had a long day today. Started off by going to the doctor's and her saying I need to get a new pair of expensive glasses, so that bummed me out. Not even shopping made me feel better!

Not that I usually like shopping but anyway ^^. I told you yesterday I'd upload more of the things I've already made, and here I am keeping that little promise. Yay me! :P
Hmm... don't really know what to say about this one... had
some scraps from the card I ma
de my dad for his birthday so I made this thing
. Didn't want to toss something I could use :D. The ribbon I got from a sewing shop and the heart and butterfly are like little stickers... Yeah, haven't got the terms yet for these kinds of things so I hope you understand what I mean. If not, just ask ^^.
This next one I made from a thicker kind of blue paper, the same kind of ribbon like the last one and a screen-shot from World of Warcraft. (Yes, I play too. As well as Sam, that's actually where we "met") I just thought that the skies in Outlands (a part o
f the game where you can go when you've reached a certa
in level) are so beautiful, so I made this. Really simple, some glue and a pen ^^.
Oh, this one's from my creative streak during Easter times. Sorry about the blurry image, I couldn't get a good angle when taking this shot. The writing says Happy Easter in Swedish, incase you were wondering ;). Again I used a thicker kind of paper and a sticker flower. Some feathers and some paint and voila! This emerged.

I like this little Easter card better than the other, simply because I used four different coloured feathers. The sticker you see in the corner is of a tulip and the sticker flower. I'm kinda crazy about these flowers I realised now... oops?
This is the same thing, I just got it to stand up a little better. Oh, and incase you're wondering, it's my computer its standing on :D. So that's the reason the wires are there.
I'm going to have to cut it here for tonight. I'm really tired and I need to get up tomorrow morning. But I hope to see you back here again and that you enjoy the cards (at least so far, hehe).

Astraia; Endyein

My first blog. Who would've thought? Anyway... I've been following The Crafting Garden for a few months, and after a while I wanted to make my own cards. So I started doing this aswell as scrapbooking.  ^^

Sam, a very close friend of mine, thought I should start a blog on my own so here I am... having no clue what to write about.

So this is my first entry. The sketch is something a Dutch friend of mine sent me. I decided to print it and make this card.  I'm quite pleased with this card myself, to be honest.
This isn't the first card I made however. The next few entries will probably show you what I've done so far. I had a bit of a creative streak while studying for my last exam. My mother kept saying "You are always more creative when studying for an exam". How exactly I should interpret that, I haven't decided yet.

Well, since I've been trying to add another picture of something else for the last five minutes without luck I'm going to end it here for tonight.
